Dr Humphreys

Dr. Lewis G. Humphreys, Jr.

Born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Dr. Humphreys attended Auburn University for his undergraduate work. Dr. Humphreys received his DMD from the University of Alabama in Birmingham after being honored as the top periodontal student in his graduating class. While serving as a dental officer in the United States Air Force, Dr. Humphreys was accepted into the Periodontal Residency Program. He attended Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas, completing his Masters degree in biochemistry in the periodontal program. After attaining the rank of Lieutenant Colonel selectee, Dr. Humphreys moved to the Wiregrass area and went into private practice over 28 years ago.

As a periodontist for over 33 years, Dr. Humphreys is certified by the American Board of Periodontology and Dental Implant Surgery having been closely examined for both knowledge and ability by leading specialists in his profession. Dr. Humphreys has had extensive training in dental stomatology with two case reports published in national dental publications. Dr. Humphreys aggressively pursues continuing education to ensure his patients receive the latest in updated technology and treatment. He is certified in intravenous sedation (IV) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

Dr-bioDr. Humphreys is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Periodontology and Dental Implants, the Alabama Dental Association, and the Third District Dental Society, having served as both president elect and president. He has been awarded Diplomate status by the American Board of Periodontology and Dental Implant Surgery. He served on the board of Wiregrass Hope Group as a member and later as Chairperson. An active member of Wiregrass Church, Dr. Humphreys currently serves as an elder and small group facilitator. Dr. Humphreys is an active participant and supporter of our area's Christian Medical Ministry Association involving Alabama College of Medicine medical students. As a committed Christian, Dr. Humphreys considers it a privilege and pleasure to live and work in the Wiregrass area. He is grateful to God for the opportunity to serve in a community he loves while in a profession he continues to find rewarding and challenging. Dr. Humphreys and his wife have traveled with a dental/medical/veterinary team several times to Honduras as well as to Belize to provide dental care to outlying rural villages.

Dr. Humphreys has been happily married to his college sweetheart, Alicia, for 46 years. They have three married children and eight grandchildren they adore: Ryan Humphreys, an emergency room physician in Birmingham, Alabama, married to Elizabeth, an architectural historian, with two sons, Jonathan and Charlie; Mikelyn Bolden, a speech pathologist and author (http://www.mikelynbolden.com/) here in Dothan, married to Marshall, a financial analyst with CapSouth Wealth Management with a daughter, Isabel; and Colleen Sansom, a surgical nurse in Madison, Alabama and her husband, Kurt, a doctoral candidate in biomedical engineering working in Huntsville and sons, Lex, Harding, Judah, Humphrey and one daughter, Eliora.

An avid runner, Dr. Humphreys also enjoys water sports, fishing, snow skiing, Auburn football, and traveling with his family.

Dr Galloway

Dr. Patrick B. Galloway

Dr. Galloway was born in Greensboro, North Carolina, and graduated valedictorian from Christ High School in Arden, North Carolina. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and then graduated with distinction in the top of his class at the University of North Carolina Dental School. He completed his periodontics/dental implant residency and his Master of Science degree at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Following his periodontal residency, Dr. Galloway was selected as a staff periodontist and professor assigned to train new dentists in the Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. In his time at Eglin AFB, Dr. Galloway became the Chief of the Periodontics Element and was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal. Over the years he has received numerous awards and recognitions for his academic work, his character, and his patient care; including being chosen by the Air Force Surgeon General as the USAF Dental Educator of the Year.

Dr. Galloway is board certified by the American Board of Periodontology and Dental Implant Surgery. He is also certified in intravenous (IV) sedation, oral sedation, nitrous oxide sedation, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and is a current member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Periodontology, the Alabama Dental Association, and the Third District Dental Society, where he is serving as Treasurer/Secretary. Dr. Galloway spent several years in periodontal research at the Center for Oral and Systemic Diseases in Chapel Hill, NC and has been a major contributor to four published research studies. His research focused on periodontal disease, dental implants, peri-implantitis, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and adverse pregnancy outcomes. He is the current President of the Third District Dental Society. 

galloway3Dr. Galloway has been married to his beautiful wife, Meghan, since 2007. The Galloways are the proud parents of three children, Jack, Grace, and Sean. The Galloways are a committed Christian family who attend Wiregrass Church in Dothan where they are involved in a small group and help with the children's ministry. Dr. Galloway believes in service to God, his country and his family. He has traveled to Mexico and the country of Moldova to provide free dentistry to hundreds of orphans. Dr. Galloway has also been heavily involved in charitable medical programs here in the United States with Missions of Mercy (MOM) Clinics, Remote Area Medical (RAM) clinics, Crossroads Clinic in Florida, and many more.

Dr. Galloway was an Eagle Scout and he loves getting his kids involved in the scouting program. He also enjoys sporting clays, hunting, fishing, hiking, and camping. The Galloways enjoy spending time in the outdoors with their family or cheering on their favorite sports team. Go Tar Heels!
